Cowboy Boots (order # 07-06)
This art print is from our historical calendar "Signs of Texas."

$15 matted (11" x 14")

$50 framed (14" x 17")

Texas cattle drives began in 1866 because longhorn cattle brought $2 a head in Texas, but $40 a head at railheads in Kansas. Trail bosses hired teenage cowboys, who needed a riding boot with a tall heel to keep the foot in the stirrup and a tall top to protect the leg from thorns and snakes.  The boots pictured belonged to my son when he was a teenager.
